David J Bradford was the founding attorney of MJC, and served as its lead attorney for nearly a decade until he returned to Jenner & Block as a partner in 1994. At Jenner, David was lead counsel in trying multiple nine-figure cases to verdict and represented numerous death row inmates. He served as co-chair of the firm’s approximately 500 attorney litigation department and was an elected member of its executive committee for approximately 15 years. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and recognized in Chambers for the last 12 years as a leading litigator. National Law Journal has recognized him as one of its “winning attorneys,” and American Lawyer named him a Litigator of the Week. He has received awards from the American Constitution Society, National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, and Jenner & Block for his outstanding pro bono and death penalty work. David has taught death penalty and habeas jurisprudence at University of Chicago Law School. He has been a board member of Death Penalty Information Center since its inception in 1990.
