Leah C. Ward joined the MacArthur Justice Center’s Louisiana office in 2016 as their Legal Administrator. She has over 20 years of experience as a legal assistant/paralegal leading casework on matters in state, federal, and appellate courts, as well as multidistrict litigation.
In addition to managing the Louisiana office, Leah also provides paralegal support to various MacArthur Justice Center litigation. Most recently, Leah assisted with all facets of litigation regarding the wrongful arrest, unjustified use of force, and detention, of an Indiana teenager that resulted in a lawsuit alleging that aggressive, unjustified harassment of African Americans is a regular practice of Louisiana State Police (LSP) on patrol in the French Quarter.
Before joining the MacArthur Justice Center, Leah was a paralegal at the former Smith Stag law firm, where she assisted with several class action lawsuits for Louisiana residents who were impacted by industrial air pollution. She also assisted on various other cases centering on complex environmental pollution claims, toxic exposure claims, and mineral royalty disputes.
Leah’s experience includes Environmental Law, Insurance Defense, Railroad Litigation, Medical Malpractice, Maritime and Admiralty Law, and Products Liability.
