Areas of Focus
Emily Clark is the Senior Appellate Research Specialist at the MacArthur Justice Center and has been with the Supreme Court and Appellate Program since 2017. She has more than 15 years of paralegal experience and specific experience working on prisoner cases.
From 2006 to 2017, Emily was a paralegal with Arnold & Porter LLP, and worked for five of those years in the firm’s Appellate and Supreme Court practice group in Washington, D.C. She also co-founded a grassroots organization in DC dedicated to stopping police abuse of power and worked closely with local activists and advocacy groups to organize events and protests, “know your rights” training sessions, and demonstrations on how to safely and effectively video the police. In 2006, Emily graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in English from Skidmore College.
Emily has co-authored features on two of MJC’s major issue areas, the Prison Litigation Reform Act and qualified immunity, including a blog analyzing Supreme Court ruling on qualified immunity.
