Katie Pleiss is an Equal Justice Works fellow Sponsored by Ropes & Gray in the MacArthur Justice Center’s Supreme Court & Appellate Program. Her fellowship project focuses on challenging the use of solitary confinement on vulnerable populations.
Katie graduated from Harvard Law School in 2024, where she was involved in Harvard’s Criminal Justice Appellate Clinic and served as Impact Litigation Director for Harvard’s Prison Legal Assistance Project. She also interned with the Federal Public Defender for the Northern District of Georgia, the Southern Center for Human Rights, and Rights Behind Bars. Katie graduated from Emory University in 2021 with a B.A. in Politics, Philosophy, and Law. She is not yet admitted to the D.C. Bar and is currently practicing under the supervision of D.C.-barred attorneys.
