Nethra Raman is a Legal Fellow in the MacArthur Justice Center’s Supreme Court & Appellate Program. In this role, she litigates civil rights appeals in federal courts around the country. Her project focuses on protecting reproductive rights in prison.

Nethra received her J.D. with honors from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was a Dean’s Scholar. During law school, she participated in the Civil Rights Litigation Initiative and was Book Review Editor for the Michigan Law Review. She also worked for the ACLU’s Criminal Law Reform Project, Loevy & Loevy, Rights Behind Bars, and MJC. She received her B.A. with highest honors and distinction in Asian American Studies and History of Public Policy.
