Areas of Focus
Timmy Châu serves as the Community Outreach Lead of the National Parole Transformation Project at the MacArthur Justice Center (MJC). His work seeks to grow and support grassroots movements, including advocates, lawyers and system-impacted communities working toward decarceration.
Châu joined MJC in January 2023 after serving four years as the Executive Director of the Prison + Neighborhood Arts/Education Project where he worked to build inside/outside networks of mutual support and advocacy between activists, scholars, students, and artists on both sides of the prison walls.
In 2020, he co-founded Dissenters, a new youth-led anti-war organization working to end U.S. investment in war and militarism.
